Pre-Tar Base Layer Stabilization – EL-Quarto SSS
Build Stronger Roads From the Ground Up
Before any tar, asphalt, or chip-and-spray surface is applied, the underlying layers must be strong, compacted, and structurally stable. EL-Quarto SSS is designed to strengthen both the subgrade and base layer, giving you a durable, high-density foundation that supports long-term road performance — especially under heavy traffic and challenging soil conditions.
Why Stabilizing the Base Layer Matters
A tar road is only as strong as the layers beneath it.
Weak base layers cause:
- premature cracking
- rutting and depressions
- uneven settlement
- potholes emerging shortly after surfacing
- costly rehabilitation
EL-Quarto SSS prevents these issues by forming deep molecular bonds within the soil, effectively turning weak or loose material into a dense, load-bearing road platform.
How EL-Quarto SSS Strengthens the Subgrade & Base
Our nano-bonding formula penetrates deep into the soil and binds fine particles, removing voids and increasing inter-particle friction.
The result:
- Higher bearing capacity
- Better compaction
- Stronger resistance to deformation
- Improved moisture resistance
- Long-term structural stability
This creates a stable subgrade and base layer capable of supporting tar and asphalt without failure.
Two Application Methods
1. Rip-In / Mix-In Stabilization
Used when the goal is full-depth structural improvement.
- Product is diluted and applied into the soil layer
- Ripped, mixed, or reclaimed mechanically
- Compacted to create a dense, strong base
- Ideal for new tar roads, upgrades, and rehabilitation
This method produces a robust foundation equal to — or better than — imported G-materials.
2. Spray-On Penetration Treatment
Used when the base layer is already shaped but needs strengthening.
- Solution is sprayed evenly across the surface
- Penetrates and locks fines
- Increases crust hardness and surface density
- Reduces water absorption and erosion
Perfect for stabilizing the upper portion of a base layer before surfacing.
Benefits for Pre-Tar Road Construction
- Stronger Subgrade Strength – reduces deformation under asphalt
- Higher Compaction Densities – improves uniformity and load distribution
- Reduced Need for Imported Material – saves costs on G5/G6/G7 layers
- Moisture Resistance – prevents water damage beneath tar
- Fewer Future Repairs – extends the lifespan of the finished road
- Works on Most Soil Types – clay, sandy soils, mixed materials, and in-situ soils
- Eco-Friendly & Non-Toxic – safe for roadside vegetation and groundwater
