Road Construction
Road Construction with EL-Quarto SSS
Overview
Building a durable road doesn’t have to mean importing tons of material or relying solely on traditional base layers. EL-Quarto SSS gives you a next-gen construction method: by bonding soil at the molecular level, we can strengthen the base or subgrade in a way that reduces or replaces conventional base layers.
How It Works
- Mix-In Application: Stabilizer is mechanically integrated into the soil (rip-in), forming a deeply bonded layer.
- Spray-On Application: For surface layers, EL-Quarto SSS is diluted, sprayed, and allowed to penetrate, forming a tough, stabilized cap.
- After curing (typically within five days), the treated soil supports heavy loads and resists shear stresses, much like a structural base.
Benefits
- Reduced Construction Costs — less need to import base materials.
- Faster Build Times — quick application and curing.
- Improved Structural Integrity — enhanced resistance to rutting, cracking, and deformation.
- Sustainable Build — using onsite soil saves on transport and carbon.
- Flexible Designs — works in remote or difficult terrain where traditional materials are not easily available.
Applications
- New gravel or dirt roads
- Temporary construction roads
- Mine roads and ramp construction
- Rural community access routes
- Runways, staging areas, or hardstands
